Therapy sessions are typically 45-50 minutes long and occur weekly to start. Based on clinical need, I sometimes offer extended sessions (75-90 minutes) and may meet more frequently.

I see therapy as a collaborative process in which the client is an active participant. I typically begin a session by setting an agenda to ensure that we prioritize your most important concerns. At the end of session, we decide on a home practice to help you apply the new skills and insights learned and begin making changes in your life.

Throughout treatment, I will check in with you frequently to see how we are doing and if we need to adjust any component of treatment to make it work better for you - I value feedback and see this as a partnership!

The duration of therapy varies for different clients - some come in with very specific concerns that are resolved within 16-20 weeks, whereas for others, therapy may involve a longer process of exploration and change. The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy is to make you into your own therapist. Therefore, therapy involves giving you tools that you can practice and use long after it is over. In time, we may reduce session frequency and eventually end therapy to allow you the ability to use these tools independently.
